Welcome back to school, OU students! The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art has another exciting semester planned for you, so before you get too wrapped up in exams and reading assignments, stop by and say hello. Also, be sure to check the calendar on our website for upcoming events and exhibitions. The goal of this blog is to give you a behind the scenes look at what goes on in a museum, so here’s a peak at some of the events coming up this semester:
- Student Opening Party – Libertad de Expresión: the Art of the Americas and Cold War Politics – October 3, 6:30 p.m. This is an exclusive event for students that includes a preview of the exhibition and a live music performance.
- Halloween Party, Fashion Show, and Dance Performance Fundraiser – October 31, 7-9 p.m. Spend Halloween with an evening of fashion, music, art, and dance. You will have fun and support a good cause all at the same time!
- Day of the Dead Street Festival – November 1, 6-10 p.m. Join us to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with live music and art activities!
