Looking for the answer to Art Abstracts? It’s Kim Squaglia‘s Volver.
On Nov. 13 Silver Soirée attendees had the opportunity to cast a ballot to choose which work by Squaglia would be acquired by the museum. We are pleased to announce that Volver will soon be joining our permanent collection for your museum enjoyment!
Squaglia says her work is, “based in abstract painting and includes a variety of forms and materials. This work employs various means of containment, manipulation, replication, and mirroring to create overlapping associations with landscape, scientific display, and the process and products of the natural world. My primary technique consists of multiple layers of meticulously painted forms within transparent layers of resin. The surface may remain glossy or be sanded for a matte finish depending on the level of transparency desired.”
