THE BEACONS OF GONDOR ARE LIT: FJJMA CALLS FOR DOCENTS

the STORY

Have you ever wandered the halls of the museum, pondering what it would be like to know all about the beautiful works in our collection? It’s not as unattainable of a goal as you might think! If you’re enthusiastic about learning new things, and love to share what you learn with others, you have what it takes to be a docent at the FJJMA! You don’t need a background in art history, and you don’t need any prior knowledge about our collection–our Education department will teach you everything you need to know in order to impart knowledge to the next generation of visitors!

WHERE CAN I LEARN MORE?

We’re hosting a recruitment breakfast at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 8, so you can chat with our long-time docents and our Education team! Not only will we give you information about the program, we’ll also stuff you full of waffles and coffee. So if you’re waffling about whether or not you want to be a docent, waffle no more!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THAT?

If you get along with everyone at the docent recruitment breakfast and decide Docenthood is for you, your training will begin on Monday, Sept. 12. We’ll kick the experience off with a series of workshops that will get you familiar with our numerous collections. We will also introduce you to the general history and structure of the museum, as well as our (awesome) staff.

SHORT STORY
