What has four words and is your favorite spring fundraiser at the FJJMA? Toast to the Arts! This year, we’re celebrating the uncannily warm weather with a floral-themed evening. And of course, it wouldn’t be a fundraiser if we didn’t pop a few bottles of champagne and wine!
What to Expect
Toast to the Arts features an array of delicious hors d’oeuvres and delectable wines and beers for you to sample at various stations around the museum. At each table, you will have a complimentary taste of each offering. If you fall in love with one of the samples, we will have full bottles on hand for you to purchase! Either keep it corked and save it for a treat when you get home, or pop it open and share with your friends! If you prefer the frothier things in life, visit one of our beer tasting stations during the evening. Our bubbling (and not-so-bubbling) beverages will be provided by Republic National Distributing Company!
Toast to the Arts is a fabulous party–but your ticket purchase goes much farther! By supporting this event, you will help students experience art and culture by visiting the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art! All proceeds will go to a bus fund that will provide money to help schools afford transportation costs of educational field trips to the museum. Visits to the museum help students learn how to interpret art and culture, as well as enhance their visual literacy skills. The bus fund is designed to foster partnerships between the museum and schools in Oklahoma. If you can’t buy tickets, you can still donate to this great cause! Just visit this link, and select ‘Make a Donation’!
This year, the evening’s theme is Bubbles and Blossoms! We will be partnering with some fabulous florists around Norman and Oklahoma City to create stunning arrangements inspired by works from our permanent collection. Four beautiful arrangements from Birdie Blooms, Wright’s Floral Market, Michael Pullen Design, and Redbud Floral will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Of course, no party is complete with only bubbles and blossoms! During the evening, you will feast on delicious sweet and savory delights from the local area. Expect to see offerings from O Asian Fusion, Scratch Kitchen & Cocktails, Abbey Road Catering, Legend’s Restaurant, Homeland, Food for Thought, Gaberino’s Homestyle Italian, and Apple Tree!
THINGS TO KNOW
What’s in a name…: We’ve been having some trouble coming up with a name for our bus fund, so we’ve decided to ask you for help! During Toast to the Arts, we will ask attendees to submit names for our bus fund. After the event, we will go through all of the submissions and pick our favorite!
